POSITION TITLE: Credit Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Region Manager
PURPOSE: To administer Company credit policy and related procedures in a manner
consistent with the Company’s sales, profitability, and Customer Service
objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze creditworthiness of current and prospective Customers, establishing or modifying credit lines within corporate guidelines.
Maintain comprehensive credit history files for each credit Customer including financial statements, credit reports, and notes applicable to the Company's credit history with the Customer.
Approve all extensions of credit within prescribed credit policy. Review significant orders for protections such as joint checks, bonds, lien rights, guarantees, etc.
Make collection calls to expedite customer payments and/or to identify disputed items or other problems.
Initiate action in a timely manner to resolve disputed items, utilizing the cooperation of others as required.
Administer and co-ordinate floor plan activity between Customer, the Company, and CDCC.
Keep Company personnel informed of current credit situation through direct contact and publication and circulation of up-to-date credit hold/C.O.D. list.
Make customer visits, both to resolve open issues and to promote goodwill between the Company and its Customers.
Receive and apply Customer remittances to accounts receivable, maintaining records and reconciling with Customer personnel as required.
Cooperate and comply with all Company policies, procedures, and directives in a timely manner.
Maintain atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork with all Company employees.
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
